Introduction

ECO-BIN 360 — "smart moves for a smarter planet" — is a three-part robotic waste system. The main trash bin is a self-navigating robot with cameras that roams the house, vacuums and mops floors, picks up trash (even mid-air) and returns to empty itself. The mini trash factory segregates waste into seven streams — plastic, paper, glass, cloth, metal, organic and other — and recycles each differently: organic waste becomes biogas, paper is shredded and repulped, cloth is burned for electricity and heat, plastic is burned for electricity, metal is weighed and listed for sale on an app-based marketplace, and glass is crushed into powder and sand. Ash and CO2 byproducts are repurposed into fertiliser, bricks and ink. The trash drone is GPS-guided and carries organic waste in biodegradable seed-embedded bags to soil to grow plants, and transports "other" waste to the nearest public bin.
